The name "Fido" became popular after Abraham Lincoln gave it to his dog.
The first famous Fido, though, was a 1940s Italian street dog who became famous for loyalty to his master, a soldier who left on a bus and died at war.
Fido waited at a bus station 14 years for his master to return.
That type of extraordinary commitment is what our Central American growers use to nurture the beans that give this coffee its deep, heavy flavor. Origin characteristics are diminished and acidity is non-existent in this dark, Italian Roast.
